MindXP helps ordinary UK households prepare for the disruptions that actually happen here: power cuts, storms, water incidents, supply problems, and the emergencies in the news. No bunkers, no doomsday, just practical resilience.
Why the site exists
The site exists because preparedness advice for UK homes is surprisingly hard to find. Most of what’s out there is written for American survivalists or buried in dry official documents. MindXP brings it all together: evidence-backed advice for keeping your household running through whatever’s coming.
Who’s behind it
It’s run by me, Lewis Doddy. I’m a professional writer and editor, and I’ve spent years managing and publishing content for well-known companies. Preparedness is something I genuinely enjoy, so this site is where my work and hobby meet.
How every article is checked
Every article is checked against primary sources: government guidance, official statistics, and manufacturer specifications. Prices are verified at publish. When something’s wrong, tell me and it gets fixed fast.
How the site makes money
Some articles include links to products. If I recommend something, it’s because it earns its place, and plenty of what I recommend (a tin of beans, a bottle of water) makes nobody any money. The site may earn a small commission from some links at no cost to you. It never changes a verdict.
